Child Education
Education is a valuable commodity in the Kenyan culture. Parents will go to great lengths to send their children to school. They understand that education can be the way to a new life for their children.

Christian Ministries In Africa saw the great need and moved immediately to meet it on several different levels. God is working in some amazing ways through the education ministry of CMIA.
- CMIA currently runs seven pre-primary schools for poor families who cannot afford an education.
- CMIA runs a Church on the Rock Academy Primary School on the headquarter grounds in Langata.

Church on the Rock Academy Primary School in Langata, Nairobi, was established in 2002 to meet the growing need for quality primary education for both area children and the Grace Children's Centre children, particularly for those who are HIV positive as the fear of HIV/AIDS has led to a policy of exclusion by most other schools.
COTRA currently offers Standards 1 through 6 (1st - 6th grade), and for the 2007 school year has a student body of 96. COTRA will add a Standard (grade) each school year until, in 2009, it will offer Standards 1–8, spanning the complete Kenya education system primary syllabus. The Standard 8 year for Kenya primary students culminates with the November sitting of terminal exams that earn a child the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and determine his/her eligibility for various nationwide secondary schools.
Although fairly new, COTR Academy is already recognized as one of the top schools in the area. Teacher training is kept current and because of the faithful supporters of CMIA, the Academy has desks, chalkboards, teaching aids and a growing computer lab.

To prepare children for the primary schools, CMIA offers a free-of-charge pre-school program for three to six year olds. There are seven pre-primary schools throughout the countryside of Kenya, teaching close to 800 children, preparing them for entrance and placement exams, and influencing their families with the love of Christ.

HIV/AIDS has become a pandemic, and CMIA is doing what it can to combat the core issues of this dreaded disease.
HIV education to the youth of this country is strategic in this battle. Partnering with medical, social service and counseling personnel from Kenya and other countries, training and HIV awareness classes are provided for CMIA caregivers, youth, children and church congregations.
Although caring for HIV infected children; and training their caregivers is a costly, and sometimes heartbreaking task, Christian Ministries In Africa believes it is called to this extremely important ministry of education.
